In its fifth decade, Europa-Park heads to new shores. Coastiality turns the Alpenexpress ‘Enzian' into an entirely new experience with the help of the world's first VR technology for rollercoasters! Virtual reality will now have a significant impact on the development of new rides. Voletarium, Europe's largest flying theatre, makes it possible to experience breathtaking landscapes through the power of flight. The Adventure Club of Europe (ACE) was also founded with Voletarium - a secret society to which many origin stories of new attractions can be traced back.

Eurosat also got a VR update in 2018. The second collaboration with French director Luc Besson and his film Valerian is underway. In addition to the new VR ride, the attraction will be given a themed makeover and will become 'Eurosat CanCan Coaster'.

This euphoria is unfortunately clouded by a devastating fire in Holland and Scandinavia, which destroys one of the favourite attractions of many guests: Pirates in Batavia. Roland Mack, in particular, suffered greatly from the loss of his father Franz Mack's and Ulrich Damrau's life's work. However, the attraction was quickly rebuilt with a new story about Pirates in Batavia.

Two construction projects of gigantic proportions are keeping the Mack family busy in 2019: the Rulantica water world and the sixth themed hotel 'Krønasår'. Ann-Kathrin Mack is designing the new themed hotel together with Mack Solutions. The new YULLBE Experience 'Mission: Rulantica' is aimed to complement the new water world.

In the sixth episode of the series 'The Europa-Park Story', you can learn more about a family business' past and success.
